Geo-protection (sometimes known as geo-blocking or geo-restriction) allows internet radio and TV broadcasters to choose which countries can or cannot listen to listen to their internet streams and programmes. Restrictions are usually applied by radio and TV companies due to copyright limitations eg a company may only have the rights to broadcast a programme to a certain country or region.
Although we have purchased non-exclusive international licenses for all the music we play, due to the broadcast licensing conditions in some countries*, we geo-block our internet and phone app streams to them. This includes USA, France, Spain and their dependencies. We apologise for any inconvenience or frustration that this may cause. There are many other established internet stations based in those countries that can provide you with an excellent alternative service.
*In some countries stations are obliged to make rights payments even if the rightsholders already have prior licensing agreements with the internet broadcasters.
